When I launched the Reflection Quiz back in January, I wrote about why giving people language for their experience mattered so much to me.
I wanted to help people move away from “I don’t know what’s wrong with me” and toward “Oh, this is where I am, and this is why it makes sense.” in the most accessible way possible (which is why the quiz takes only 3 mins as a quick initial signal).
Recently, I decided to sit down and re-take the quiz since 7 months has passed since then.
Here are my results:
Inner Pattern: Driven Achiever. Season: Autumn.
If you are familiar with the Driven Achiever pattern, you know our natural default: push, execute, optimize, build, and move to the next horizon.
We feel safest when we are producing and moving forward.

And the season I am in is Autumn – the season of integration.
It’s the time after expansion where you slow down, harvest what you’ve built, let go of what’s no longer serving you, and make sense of what you’ve lived through before moving forward again.

For a Driven Achiever, Autumn (and Winter) is often the harder seasons to be in since we usually prefer to movement and momentum.
So I thought I share my reflections on what being in this season with this inner pattern means for me in my work and relationships.
In Work: Shifting from “What’s Next?” to “What Matters?”
As a Driven Achiever, my instinct in work is almost always momentum.
When something succeeds, I want to scale it. When a problem arises, I want to fix it immediately.
But Autumn has been asking me to practice a different kind of discipline: the discipline of pause.
- Harvesting over Hustling: In past seasons, as soon as a project or launch wrapped, I’d immediately shift to “What’s next on the roadmap?”
- In Autumn, I’ve had to actively stop and ask: What actually worked here? What gave me energy versus what just consumed it?
- Allowing Integration: Growth isn’t just about output; it’s about digesting the lessons.
- I’ve realized that if I keep pushing without integrating, I run the risk of building things out of habit rather than alignment.
- Redefining Productivity: I’m learning that reflection isn’t “lost time” – it can actually be one of the highest form of strategy.
- Letting go of projects or ideas that no longer fit is just as important as starting new ones.
In Relationships: From Solving to Staying Present
The Driven Achiever in me doesn’t just show up at my desk; it shows up in my personal life, too.
In relationships, a Driven Achiever’s instinctive move is often to solve, optimize, or fix.
When conflict or emotional weight arises, the impulse is: Let’s map out a solution so we can get back on track.
Autumn has brought a gentler, deeper lesson into my relationships:
- Being Present vs. Fix-It Mode: I’ve realized that people I care about don’t always need me to solve their problems or turn their feelings into an action plan. Sometimes, love looks like sitting with someone in the quiet without trying to rush them into the “next step.”
- A useful tip here I learnt is asking someone whether they would like to be hugged, heard or helped instead of assuming
- Dropping the Need to Perform: Being an achiever can subtly create a belief that you have to be “useful” or “productive” to be valued in a relationship.
- Autumn has been an invitation to rest in simply being – allowing myself to be seen in my lower-energy moments without feeling like I have to earn my spot.
- Releasing Expectations: Just as trees shed leaves in autumn, I’m learning to release old relational scripts like the need to always be the strong one, the planner, or the anchor, and instead allowing for more space of reciprocity and softness.
Honoring the Season You’re In
If you are a Driven Achiever, you might treat Autumn like a obstacle – a slow patch you just need to “get through” so you can get back to Summer’s high-energy expansion or Spring’s fresh starts.
But part of our work is flowing with the seasons and learning that Autumn isn’t a delay. It’s the harvest. It’s where wisdom is formed.
Without Autumn, we might just burn ourselves out carrying dead leaves into the next cycle.
