5 Lessons I’m Taking With Me From 2025

As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on my personal lessons as well as those of my clients.

The collective theme that is emerging is not louder goals nor more pushing. But an appreciation of a different kind of leadership that is growing – the kind that starts inside.

  1. We evolved our relationship with work.
  • Many of us realised how tightly our worth had been wrapped around productivity, achievement and doing what seems like ‘enough’.
  • We loosened that grip and learnt that our work often improves when we stop using it to prove our value.

    2. We learned how to sit with discomfort.

    • One of the biggest breakthroughs was noticing the difference between pain that’s part of being human (clean pain) and pain we add through harsh stories and self-judgment (dirty pain).
    • We practiced pausing enough to let the calmer, more grounded part of ourselves lead instead of merely reacting.

      3. We learnt that energy management and rest can be such a multiplier.

      • So many of us were taught that rest has to be earned, or that slowing down means falling behind.
      • Rest became less about collapsing after burnout, and more about noticing when something felt off and responding with care instead of force.
      • Success was no longer measured only by outcomes, but by the ability to sustain results while staying kind, present and healthy.

        4. We got clearer about what relationships mean to us and how to show up for them intentionally.

        • Boundaries became less about walls and more about self-respect.
        • Asking for help felt less like a burden and more like connecting.
        • Showing up with presence instead of carrying what isn’t ours helped to strengthen the bonds even more.

          5. Overall, we began to see the subconscious programs that had been shaping our choices for years, gently unpack them, and decide what no longer needed to lead.

With that inner re-wiring in place, I’m looking forward to how we’ll move through 2026 – more rooted and more trusting of ourselves.
